UNCG CHANCE Summer Program- April 1 Deadline

UNCG CHANCE is a unique experience that provides area Latino/Hispanic high school students with the opportunity to engage in an intensive, three-day college readiness and test prep experience. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with university professors, students, and staff to develop a peer/professional network forging positive, healthy mentorship connections focused on academic success and personal growth. During a creative mix of days, students will experience a “day in the life of a college student” by:
· Attending class
· Learning about financial aid applications and literacy
· Learning about campus organizations
· Doing sports activities
· Having cultural experiences
· Doing team-building activities
· Learning about civic responsibility

About the program
Name: UNCG CHANCE (Campamento Hispano Abriendo Nuestro Camino a la Educación)
What: A unique experience that provides area Latino/Hispanic high school students with the opportunity to engage in an intensive, three-day college readiness and test prep experience.
Dates: 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, through noon Saturday, July 15
Location: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro
Fee to attend: $30 (nonrefundable and due by May 1)
Eligibility: All Latino and Hispanic students from Greensboro and surrounding counties who have completed tenth or eleventh grade with a minimum 2.8 high school GPA and are committed to attending the program may apply. Space is limited to the first 100 qualified students.
